Canada Tax Desk

Editorial policy

How the Canada Tax Desk editorial team researches, writes and updates guides.

Sources

We rely on primary sources: canada.ca, the Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, Revenu Québec and provincial governments, plus software vendors' own help pages for software facts. Every guide lists the official pages it relies on.

Accuracy and dates

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. When the next year's figures are not yet published, we say so and note when they are usually announced, rather than guessing. When rules change, we update the affected guides and the date at the top of each one.

Independence

Advertising pays for the site. Advertisers do not review or approve content. We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings or links.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written and maintained by the Canada Tax Desk editorial team using the sources above. We do not publish invented experts or credentials. Community questions, answers and posts are written by readers, are labelled with their author, and are moderated for spam, scams and personal data.

Corrections

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We review every correction and update the guide when the source supports it.
